Raw Arts Festival in Valencia is Spain's First Non-Mainstream Arts Festival

Spain's first non-mainstream arts festival

(PRWEB) December 21, 2005 -- October 2006 sees the third Raw Arts Festival travel to Valencia, Spain. At the very heart of this Festival are new and exciting collaborations with the NY Arts Magazine and the Color Elefante Gallery in Valencia, Spain. Raw or 'Outsider art' includes Folk/Intuitive/Marginalised/Self-taught/Visionary art. The previous two Raw Arts Festivals in London were highly successful. The first attracted over 65 artists from 9 different countries. The second attracted over 95 artists from 12 different countries. They were referenced as being “London's largest and best International exhibition of self-taught art mounted to date” by the New York Arts Magazine.

The main objectives of the Raw Arts Festival are:

  • To show that all kinds of people are capable of producing truly great art
  • To bring all kinds of people together to celebrate our common humanity.

In addition, the 2006 Festival seeks:

  • To highlight artists that respect and enjoy Spanish culture
  • To show that many famous Spanish artists have been influenced by raw art
  • To compliment the Valencia Biennal
  • To show that the raw art movement is becoming increasingly international
