Election 2008 Countdown: Florida's Collins Center for Public Policy and Neighborhood America Encourage Voters to Debate the Proposed Amendments at FLamendments.org

In the final days before election 2008, Florida voters are heading to the collaborative site launched by the Collins Center for Public Policy, FLamendments.org, to flush out their views on the proposed amendments with their fellow peers. Neighborhood America's award-winning collaborative software allows voters to exchange ideas and debate the issues in this social networking environment.

Naples, FL (PRWEB) November 1, 2008 -- Web 2.0 technologies such as social networking sites and forums are giving way to a new generation of voters; voters that search the Internet for independent, non-partisan information and often times turn to the opinions of their peers to flush out their own views.

In the days leading up to election 2008, Florida's Collins Center for Public Policy, teamed up with Neighborhood America, known for its award-winning collaborative software solutions, to launch the interactive site FLamendments.org.

The site helps Florida voters quickly learn in an unbiased way about the six proposed amendments online, and share their comments and opinions about each one. This type of collaboration gives voters the opportunity to learn from one another through moderated online discussions, which serve to foster different points of views, while keeping the conversations relevant and focused on the issues.

The Comment Center encourages them to complete a brief survey to share their thoughts on the amendments and feedback on the site. The Forums are organized by amendment and feature voters' opinions on each -- the good, the bad, and the ugly. And the discussion can get heated. Additional social media features including video presentations, photo galleries and Spanish-language translations help voters make informed decisions.
