Jyco to Share TPV Acoustic Test Results at TopCon 2007
Jyco Sealing Technologies will present How TPV Outperforms EPDM for Automotive Body Sealing at TopCon 2007.
Akron, OH (PRWEB) September 11, 2007 -- Jyco Sealing Technologies will present How TPV Outperforms EPDM for Automotive Body Sealing at TopCon 2007. Noise reduction test data will be presented by James T. Browell, Jyco CAE team leader, and Shawn Jyawook, chief operating officer.
Browell and Jyawook will share the results of insertion loss and road tests of primary front and rear doors seals conducted by Kolano and Saha Engineers, Inc., Waterford, Michigan. Their analyses compared EPDM sponge parts to geometrical equivalents of extruded JyFlex, which is Jyco's proprietary thermoplastic vulcanizate compound. Similar results were recorded up to 900 Hz, but at higher levels, the JyFlex TPV part significantly improved acoustic performance against wind rush and road noise.
Jyco's technical presentation will begin at 3:30 on Wednesday, September 19. Stretching the Limits: Expanding Markets, Materials & Applications will be the theme of TopCon 2007, the 8th Thermoplastic Elastomers Topical Conference, which will be held at the Hilton Inn in Akron, Ohio, September 17-19.
